Henkel Innovation Campus for Advanced Sustainable Technologies

Henkel AG & Co. KGaA and RWTH Aachen University established a joint center of excellence named Henkel Innovation Campus for Advanced and Sustainable Technologies – HICAST. This is the first fully financed laboratory at faculty of ABBt in Aachen. Henkel is investing in the next five years up to five million euros in the research Innovation Campus in Aachen. The official opening took place on March 3, 2015 in the presence of Bruno Piacenza, member of Henkel Management Board and Executive Vice President Laundry & Home Care at Henkel and RWTH Rector Prof. Dr. Ernst Schmachtenberg. HICAST aims to develop novel and sustainable laundry detergents through a fundamental understanding of interactions among detergent components. The innovation campus will operate in future in a close collaboration of Henkel and the three professors Ulrich Schwaneberg, Regina Palkovits, and Walter Richtering from RWTH Aachen in a basic research cluster.
