A visitor from the other end of the world: Our Alumnus Dr. Ronny Martinez
Bienvenido, Dr. Ronny Martinez
The Schwaneberg group welcomes a visitor from the Southern Hemisphere: Dr. Ronny Martinez from the Universidad de La Serena, La Serena, Chile, has returned to his former place of action. After his visit at the beginning of the year, he will join us again in the time period from October to December.
Dr. Martinez worked as a PhD student in the Schwaneberg group from 2007 to 2010 at the Jacobs University in Bremen. From 2010 to 2014 he was leading the High Throughput Enzyme Screening sub division of the Chair of Biotechnology at the RWTH Aachen. After a two year placement as Principal Scientist at EW Nutrition in Cologne, he moved to the Universidad de La Serena where he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Engineering.
During his visit, Dr. Martinez will work in the scientific project with the title: „A novel deletion/randomization protein engineering strategy and its validation through improvement of B. subtilis lipase a for applied biocatalysis“.
