A day for YOUR calendar: the PAcMEN Summer SchoolCopyright: © Bio VI
PAcMEN is a European training network, which offers excellent training in biotech research and innovation for 16 talented young scientists, from four European universities and two companies:
The PAcMEN Summer School on Protein Engineering will take place from October 10th to 12th and will provide a training on state-of-the-art protein engineering methods. Expertise in protein engineering is an important skill, to improve catalytic activity and stability, to change co-factor specificity and to remove feedback inhibition. Computational assisted design will be part of the PAcMEN Summer School, as well, fostering the understanding of the molecular interactions responsible for the improvements of enzymatic properties.
The Summer School is divided into four main sessions:
- Aachen Protein Engineering Symposium
- Computational protein engineering
- Library generation & ultra-high-throughput screening
The PAcMEN summer school trains PhD fellows to use diversity generation as well as high-throughput screening methods and will enable them to understand specific properties of enzymes on the molecular level.
